State ends Chicago commute for Division of Gaming attorney Michael McClure
“A Wisconsin state employee who was reimbursed at least $67,000 in commuting expenses for travel to and from Chicago since 2002 had his office moved back to Madison in August, state officials said last week”
“Division of Gaming attorney Michael McClure received the reimbursements for mileage, lodging, meals and other expenses related to his living in Chicago and commuting to work in Wisconsin between December 2002 and this July, an Associated Press review of travel vouchers showed.
The AP requested the records after the Legislative Audit Bureau issued a report in August showing that McClure received $26,300 in mileage and other expenses between 2006 and 2009.
A week after that audit came out, on Aug. 16, McClure’s office was switched from Chicago back to Madison, said Department of Administration spokeswoman Emily Winecke. She had no other comment.”
